It was posted a few weeks ago. I had the same problem as you before
stumbling across the post above. I used synaptic to update using the
repositories at https://launchpad.net/~ruben/+archive then compiled
f-spot from the sources as outlined in the INSTALL file. (./configure ;
make ; make install ).
