Hello,

this is what I did but I got

An unhandled exception was thrown: Object reference not set to an instance of
an object

when starting f-spot.

I think this is related to the fact that Ubuntu has installed a version where
the
database is still located in ./gnome2/f-spot, as with an older photos.db.backup
it is working. The problem is that at moment I cannot download the svn version
as it
gets stuck at

"Fetching external item into 'f-spot/gio-sharp'"

You need to copy the old ~/.gnome2/f-spot (or which ever database you
used in the old laptop), and then install/run the Change Photo Path
extension.

Should fix it nicely

If you did not copy the f-spot file, then if you have stored all the
tags into the pictures it self, you just have to re-import them.
