Thanks a lot, Ruben! The instructions have worked for me. I have made the http://f-spot.org/How_To_Build_from_HEAD a bit more up-to-date and have included a link to your instructions there to help all frustrated people out there, too. However, it seems that the page needs a more serious rewrite.
One additional problem I have run into with jhbuild was that I have already done checkout of gtk-sharp before and run the ./bootstrap-2.4 there with another prefix. Jhbuild didn't run bootstrap again and have installed gtk-sharp under the old prefix, afterwards f-spot build failed, of course. Reconfigure the gtk-sharp manually (./configure --prefix=/opt/gnome), if you run into this problem. And reverting of a commit in gtk-sharp is a must in Ubuntu, too. This is the cause why I couldn't get the latest f-spot running before. Is there an official fix planned?
