I've gone back to 0.8.0 for the time being as the bug here:

is too much of a show-stopper for me as it affects cropping and resizing
during export, both features I use a lot.
Normally I install f-spot from the repos but I compiled 0.8.2 from
source, during which time I had to install libjpeg8. I found what might
be a similar issue at
