I completely forgot about Conduit, thanks for bringing it up. It is true
that it does implement some of the things that will be needed. I wonder
how much work it would be to extend it to support the rest of the
requirements. Allowing plugins to add data to be synchronized could be
especially tricky. I'm going to look into though, maybe Conduit's
datamodel is flexible enough.
