I would say that 15# is probably about right. You're never going to get down to a current Invader chassis weight unless you start all over again with a redesign of the chassis you now have.

Your Red Devil is an 1988 and used the older technology available at the time for the build process. There is no way you can compare the two :-). Further, if you still have the original rear setup, by converting to the 4 link, you can lose a great deal of weight cutting out all that unnecessary tubing :-). That is where you should begin the weight loss diet. The original chassis on my car is an older 1988 Red Devil, but a long time ago, I converted to the 4 link. My car weighs in at about 590-600# ready to compete.
