Mark,

Is that the cell that was in the car I sold you? If so, that is a good indication of the service life of the cell. I installed that cell in '99. If not, do you know the age of the cell in question?

Two years and still going? My drill bit slipped while removing the seat
pan. Used it to fill a few questionable cracks as well.

Not trying to be a smart-ass, but how many years of use will that
"patch" last? A patch in my book, is a temporary repair.

You can also patch the cracks with urethane material. Look in the "for
sale" stuff on the F-500 site for the material.

CJ,
I had twin "racing fuel cells" on my car when I got it. After a couple
of rough autocrosses, one started leaking at the outlet spigot. I was
told that old age had did it in. I simply removed it and re-plumbed the
car for one cell. Whenever it goes bad, I will put in a go-cart style
tank. You might check out www.cometkartsales.com. They have several
styles of tanks to choose from. We will have to get together one of
these days.

I am in a desperate need of a fuel cell for my old 86 red devil that I
have spent all winter redoing. It had about a 2.5 gallon cell in it from
a nova car I believe. But the cell was made in like 1991 and it is all
cracked and no good now..I have looked all over for something that will
fit and have come up with pulling my hair out. The size is 19inches long
6 inches high 6 inches wide. it was a fuel safe cell..Cant go racing
till I get the fuel tank.

 Thanks for any help
