I worked on an earlier Phantom in 1992 and it is a very good basic design. The level of finish was not terrific, however. The bodywork, rod ends and other wearable items were not top quality from the factory, but after all these years, that shouldn't matter.

Great front end geometry. Same for rear. Designed by real engineering consultants from the Gurney Eagle team, if I remember correctly.

The gauge of the tubing seemed a little thin for a road race car. Very light car for its size.

I am looking for information on a 1996 Phantom F500. There is one for sale and I would like to know more about the car.

I plan to only run solo II with it. Has anyone here had one of these? Is it a good car or was there problems? How long from front to rear are most of the F500 cars? The last one that I drove was a 1984 Red Devil which was a short wheelbase car.

Thanks!

Gene
