Rory,

You do need to qualify to enter the National Solo Championship but it is
rather simple. You "qualify" by entering a National Tour or a Divisional.
All you need to do is turn a wheel at one of those events, you don't have to
"place" well or win your class :-). 

There is one other option if entering one of those events is impossible for
you 'cause it's kinda late in the season. That other option is to pay SCCA
an additional $75.00 as a penalty fee for not entering a qualifying event. 

Entry fee right now is $100.00 + any penalty fee for entering late or not
attending one of those events I mentioned. You can go to www.scca.com,
Solo/National Championship/Entry Form and download it if you're a mind to
getting it in early :-).

An entry form should also be in SPORTSCAR.
