Ask the manufacturer of your fuel cell.
I would guess the foam is polyethylene, which shouldn't be bothered by 10% ethanol, but that's just a guess. here is a compatibility issue, I would be more concerned about the cell itself. A plugged filter is nothing compared to a cell that falls apart.
