Jim, well that was several years ago. Since I have been running a F500 I
have seen Mike Q race at NHIS almost every year in the Regional Races. He
does put young drivers in for the Runoffs and maybe some National Races, but
he doesn't do to bad on his own. By the way Jim I may not have been in F500
as long as you but I have been doing Solo II on and off since 1964!

I have nothing against Mike Q at all as I like him very much. I am basing
my statement on Mike Q's statement to me several years ago that he has
never road raced and did not plan to. As to my going to the BOD -
whatever road racing gets, it usually goes to F Mod as well unless the
SEB/MAC says otherwise. The most fearful time that my suspension broke
was at a Peru NT several years back in the fastest section of the course.
I have witnessed other road racers (when I crewed for them many times over
many years) crash when they have had suspension failures - thankfully none
were serious but the potential is still there. I have no problem with the
BOD saying that they want some definitive studies done BEFORE they will
approve a longer rubber puck or whatever is found in the study to be
beneficial to the F500 community. Maybe Jay Novak can present his study
to the CRB/BOD at the Runoffs.
