Just a sidebar on Cometic gaskets.
I saw a top contender at the Run-Offs change out his
Cometic brand base gaskets on both of his 493s at
Topeka. They kept blowing out. He switched to ROTAX
brand and cured the problem.

John, I haven't worked on those engines specifically, but I have had really
good luck with Cometic Gaskets, they make performance gaskets for everything.

I don't like them though; they don't seal coolant passages very well. Can
