CHRIS, IT WAS TWO CARS NOT ONE.I HAD THE CAR THAR DAVE DRISSEL BROKE HIS NECK IN AND THAT WAS REINFORCED WITH A DOUBLE ROLL HOOP. THE BUILDER OF THE CAR DID LOTS OF RESEARCH AND HAD ALL KIND OF INFO THAT HE CAME UP WITH AND GAVE TO SCCA TO TRY AND GET THE CAR TO BE LEGAL. SCCA SAID THAT WAS NICE WORK BUT "WHERE WERE YOU BEFORE WE VOTED" AND SAID "NO". AND AS FOR THE MOTOR WE STILL RAN KAWASAKI'S AND HAD LOTS OF SPARES BUT JUST COULDN'T JUSTIFY THE TWO COSTS AT THAT TIME.WE WOULD HAVE LOVED TO KEPT RACING AND I MISS ALOT BUT THINGS CHANGE.WE SOLD ALL OF OUR STUFF TO A GUY AROUND PHILLY AREA WHO HAS DONE ALL THE UPDATES AND IS RACING THEMYET. I'M JUST GLAD SOMEONE HAD THE TIME AND MONEY TO KEEP THEM GOING.

A 10 year run in car??? That's awesome!!! Try that in any other competitive class... Was that motor change the Kawasaki's that were no longer availible, or the AMW that blew up??? Sounds like a good reason to switch engines... CR greg hennigan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: I'D LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY OF THESE CARS ARE SETTING IN GARAGES. AND HOW MANY OF THEM WERE PUT THERE DO TO SOME "RULE CHANGE" WHERE THE PERSON COULD NOT AFFORD TO CONTINUE RACING. THATS WHY ME AND MY FATHER QUIT.MOTOR CHANGE AND ROOL HOOP SIZE IN THE SAME YEAR KILLED A 10YR THING. I believe Formula Mazda had fewer entries in NEDiv than F500 had in PacNW - there's only one car campaigning there. I don't see anyone lamenting the imminent demise of FM, and certainly nobody is trying to radically change the rules to prop it up. I believe that if you look at FV in PacNW, you'll see very low numbers, as well. F500 is centered in SEDiv, NEDev, CENDiv, and MWDiv - so let's look at what the marketers call 'same-store sales' if we're going to honestly evaluate participation. If we got all the cars out to the track, I think we'd be in fine shape; my fear is that a radical change to the ruleset will guarantee that many of those cars will stay in the garage.
