35 competitive minutes on a single tank is approaching the edge of our fuel mileage window. I top up after every session....without fail. I check the oil tank every session and normally top it off every other session and definitely before a race.
If fuel was not the cause of the engine shutting down, then next most likely culprit would be the coil. Coils can be very challenging. Sometimes they will work fine when cold and then fail when they heat up under use. Some time they will fail because of vibration. Carry a spare of everything electrical for the car....coil, CDI box, stator and anything else that may fail electrically, including at battery if you are using one. I had a battery that worked fine in the pits with the car stationary.....get on the track and the vibrations of movement caused a plate to short out....took a race weekend and a half to figure that one out. How can I tell if Ijust ran out of gas or i have gremlins... What would you check... How often do you replace plugs.. How long can you run your car on a tank of gas.. I ran one qualifing event < 15min and one race 20 min on one tank.. Do you'll top off before each race..
