Every time I got my car painted up nice -- it seemed to get marked up quicker. I agree with the other comment about keeping it looking good at 50mph / 50ft you will save your $ for more important things. I used colored duck tape to protect the body just behind the front wheels as that area takes hits from rocks all the time and its cheap to keep up with should it get worn.
