I suspect that Because Clint ,by hitting Brian subsequently taking both Brian and Jason out of the equation weighed heavier than Golay's thumping Price where there was not much harm done.Brians car did go in the air a few inches when Clint hit him,it looked rather deliberate to me, he hit him almost square in the back.

Subject: [F500] McMahan/Novak Incident vs. Golay/Price Incident

I have just viewed the F500 race on SpeedTV and what caught my eye was the
hard hit that Brian Golay put on Kenny Price knocking Kenny up in the air, off the course and unable to continue. When you compare that with the hit that McMahan had on the rear diffuser of the Novak car and McMahan's wild airborne ride to the right of the track in avoidance of the sideways Novak (which I suspect contributed to his suspension ills later in the race). Novak was even
able to continue the race with very little damage to his diffuser which I
saw afterwards sitting outside the tech bldg. (the rest of the damage was from
Knuteson's hit). I am clearly mystified by the stewards' NOT punishing
Golay for his hit when Price protested Golay, yet busted McMahan for a slightly
lesser hit in comparison.

I am also even more mystified by the fact that I was told by Clint that no
one but the stewards were allowed to view the video replays which were critical
evidence in their judicial proceedings. This prohibition against allowing
all involved parties to view all critical evidence is a violation of judicial
due process. I think that it is grounds for appeal and overturning on
procedural error. Will it ever happen? I doubt it.
