You make a good point about going out there and crewing to learn. I have
watched my videotape a couple of times now and am curious as to what
appears to be a second pipe above the pulse chamber on McMahan's and Price's
car. On the cars where the exhaust was visible I noted that no one had their
exhaust wrapped so apparently there is no advantage to wrap these exhausts.

Subject: [F500] Come to the Runoffs to Learn

Sean,
I was there just Friday and Saturday (spending most of my time helping
Clint
McMahan) but I was able to learn some of the latest technology which I am
incorporating into my car this winter. You have the whole week with only
one
20 minute session per day so there is a huge amount of free time to see
everything and talk with everyone. This only happens once a year at the
Runoffs.
It is best to get on someone's crew to help them out rather than just
spectate.
Jim
