Sometimes , if you catch it early, you can use laquer thinner or acetone
to dissolve a "mistake", but most generally you are stuck with
grinding/sanding. Good luck.

OK, 
I've got a small problem.  Marilyn repaired a small
section on the tail but didn't clamp it well enough. 
She let it harden while she made my cocktail and when
she got back to it, she found the repair sound, but
not flush (about 1/32").  Just enough to bug me.

Is there a solvent that can undo the repair or does
she have to grind/cut and redo.  The color is in the
gel coat and if it was done right, it would have
looked perfect.

I don't want her to fill and paint as the color is
already there.
