Bill,
If you are using the Polaris secondary, these are nice to use, maybe even necessary. It's tough to compress and keep everything aligned and still be able to get the retaining clip seated without it. I have one of these tools that you are welcome to, for shipping charges. If you use the Arctic secondary, a roll of duct tape is all that's needed to reassemble. I just set the back side of the clutch on top of the duct tape and the roll of tape acts as a jig to hold the clutch while pushing the cover over the spring.
