Most aircraft spend probably 99%+ of their time when aero matters in clean, undisturbed air; I'm leaving out the short time in ground effect, while the wheels are still on the ground and things like cropdusters and Blue Angels in formation. Cars are never in clean, undisturbed air. Thus, the aero issues for most flight regimes are much simpler than those for ground vehicles.
