I pushed the idea of 13" wheels last year and the concept was not well received. The cars will look better. It may actually be a bit of a disadvantage in the way of weight to go to the big wheel. The FSAE cars have had the 10 and 13" options for some time. Due to the ability to package a better brake in the car, most teams use the 13. The 10s are always knocked for the limited brake options. If you have never leaned a 13" wheel against you car...it really looks a lot better. Since I am only in this for the glamor of being a very serious and important race driver, that is all that matters ;) Seriously though, Goodyear stopped making 10" tires. They may be back, if anyone is getting them from somewhere. I will have to check with my sister (works at Goodyear's tech plant). Jeff at Hoosier has suggested that they would like to quit making 10" tires but are willing to continue now because of the decent number we use.
More wheels, more tires. Your option to change. Hell, it might be worse, but it is an option at least. jim ________________________________ FormulaCar Magazine - A Proud Supporter of Formula 500 The Official Publication of Junior Formula Car Racing Subscribe Today! www.formulacarmag.com or 519-624-2003 _________________________________ _______________________________________________ F500 mailing list - [email protected] To unsubscribe or change options please visit: http://f500.org/mailman/listinfo/f500 *** Please, DO NOT send unsubscribe requests to the mailing list! ***
