F500 needs salemanship and VERY little else to survive.
Shocks-Good idea
Bike motor alternatives-Good idea
2-stroke alternatives-Good idea
However, none of these items appear necessary for impoved participation
Work on the updates...
But don't get carried away with planning these updates and ignore selling
the class
-you might not have a class left when you are through.
Things that are great about F500 as it is currently:
1) Least expensive initial overall cost and ongoing maintenance of any
current formula car class
2) All suspension, motor, and transmission work is still possible by the
average Joe-no fancy race prep shop is necessary-not a rich kid class by any
means! Nobody can buy much of an advantage.
3) Dirt cheap easy to drive bias ply tires with no expensive radials being
developed to take their place
4) No shifting which is unique among formula cars-many came to this class
JUST because of that.
5) Small size and weight which allow extremely fuel efficient tow vehicles
and cheap trailers
6) Grassroots appeal with National Status
