  Could you send me your cell phone number, so I can call you and compare the 
configuration of our systems?  I think that is my problem.  I tried the wire 
around the spark plug lead and it didn't work either.

Don't tap into any wire . . . just tape the pickup wire to the spark plug 
lead nearest the AiM unit without passing the other spark plug lead. About 
an inch is all you need to pick-up via induction.
