Tony,
The adjuster nut has the clutch retaining bolt recessed into it , so the nut does not project much further out at all. Maybe 1/4". However, the projection diameter is larger because the nut is very large. This is all from memory and not very exact.

response kit with Quick Adjust protrudes relative to a stock Polaris
