OK you guys, now is the time to spill your deepest secrets.

A few weekends ago, I ran at Road America at the double regional. I am not
completely satisfied with the way my clutches worked. I am running a
Polaris P-85 primary and an short tower Arctic Cat roller secondary.

The Arctic Cat secondary has a 44-48 ramp and a green spring.

My engine was down on RPM, so I put in some 10-54 weights and the blue
Polaris spring. This seemed to get my RPM up to the desired 7800 RPM (494
engine), but I am not getting into the highest drive ratio. Road America
likes top speed.

I still am not able to get the belt all the way out on the primary, missing
full out by about 1/4 to 3/8" and definitely not getting all the way to the
bottom of the secondary.

I measured the secondary sheave torque and it is about 9 lbs, but according
to Miro-Belmont, the green spring is for 700 to 900 CC engines. Other
people has said that the side force should not bee a big factor in the
opening of the clutch.

The belt tension seems about right, about an inch deflection without
breaking my thumb.

I removed the springs and ran the clutches through the ranges, and nothing
is preventing the movement.

So come on guys, lets hear it.
