I use a cheap brittle laquer on mine, but use it in "Banner Red". Red gives my raggedy old car a little class! I have used Krylon and generic wal-mart and cannot tell the difference. Bill Schmidt 88 RD Kawi

OK for show cars that don't get driven. That is because those paints are flexible and stretch across underlying cracks without splitting open on the surface. As with magnesium wheels, the best paint to use is a cheap brittle lacquer. Those also are even getting hard to find at the hardware store. I just went thru this on my Jongbloed magnesium centers. Had a few talks with Bill Jongbloed over in Silver City. Unless one plans to totally strip all paint off once a year on your frame, suspension part, or wheel, I would use a cheap brittle paint in a light color like gray.
