I have a polaris primary clutch question. I pulled my old clutch off my Kawasaki this morning to replace it. It has what appears to be a "date stamp" on the back side that says "89", so I am assuming it was replaced when the car was 1 year old. Car is a 88 Red Devil. I purchased a used 2004 "Edge" clutch that is the wide roller variety. It looks awesome, but has about a half inch deeper hole on the back side where it mounts to the crank snout. The taper seems to be the same angle. Did I purchase the wrong clutch for my antique? The clutch came from a sled junkyard and was supposed to be off of a Polaris sled, not real sure of the vintage, but could find out if that is important. What do I do with the deeper hole?
