J.W. Colenso. Cornelius Vijn was a young Hollander aged 23 who had been trading in Natal for more than 4 years. He personally handed his journal to Rev. John Colenso for consideration of publication in England at the time. More than half of this book is devoted to Colenso's Notes and, as well known, he was strongly against this war. Also includes notes on 'The Zulu Military System and 'A Protest Against The Zulu War' submitted by the Aborigines' Protection Society.
