Slava, Since about the 0.90 release, I've noticed that scrolling in the ui is noticably slower. I have a vm/image with datestamp 2007-08-31-15-29 that has good performance. I can provide that image if you need it.
I think we should have had a feature freeze and longer test cycle for 0.90. Asking slava not to improve factor for even a day is unthinkable though. :-) So... when it's time for testing, perhaps we should clone the repository at that point and only patch it with fixes. That way, all the new stuff can still go into the development repos, but the "0.90" (for example) repository would be available to test. It might also be nice to keep those "release repositories" available. Plus, if a major bug survives a pre-release test cycle, you can always make a 0.90.1 repository with the patch applied and put out a fixed release.
