One of the reasons Factor hasn't stagnated is due to a strong base of contributors who have provided important libraries without which Factor would probably not be where it is today. Major changes without discussion can discourage some of those contributors from contributing. Not saying that's the case with Ed or me, just saying it's something to be aware of. Better imho is to have a period of discussion followed by a 'strong leadership descision', rather than just the decision itself. It would also provide an avenue for exploring different factor programming styles.
