Forth is one of the elder languages... I think it qualifies as 'stable'.

But you don't need to "study" Forth. He's suggesting using that text to
introduce you to how to use the stack, probably because it is one of the
better texts out there. I'm not sure whether it's really the best way,
but I don't know what is -- I'm a Forth expert, so I wouldn't know.
