Hi again! :) so here goes, I'm new here and quite new to the language. I had several attempts to port some of my code to factor and stumbled upon several issues:
1) there appears to be a total lack of general documentation on most topics. 2) examples do not cover all the issues/sections of the language 3) there is some general and theoretical info but it mostly is encoded in .flv and .mpg talk format :) 4) finding relevant and "clean" examples in the library code proved non trivial, especially for an outsider. so, as a relatively typical newcomer to the language I'll be stumbling on typical common pitfalls, IMHO, it would be useful to fix them, so, I'm offering to: 1) document my journey and learning process and 2) writeup some of the documentation and examples... but I'll need guidance, info... especially in "correct thinking" and "style"... I do have some experience (language design, OOP, different type systems... etc.) but very little in stack languages :) -- Alex. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us!
