I don't know of any concrete plans either way. My guess would be that 
coorperative threading ('green' threads or 'fibers' or whatever buzzword 
is applicable these days) will remain as it is and there will either be 
a native thread api or coop threads will be multiplexed on top of native 
threads ala erlang.

N.B. if you have experience in multithreading and want to help out then 
please do! I've got very little experience in this area and am only 
coding on this because I'm interested in getting my own project to run 
multicore. Unfortunately I've got little time to dedicate.

I only know of IRC logs as a way of reading an up-to-date account of 
what Slava is thinking. He seems to coordinate work and thoughts on IRC.
