It looks like your GL driver is having trouble with textures where one dimension is very small (this is case the for the scrollbar filler, and the parentheses in the tip of the day).
Perhaps we could find a workaround. What OpenGL driver and video card are you using? Also, what other OpenGL applications have you tested?
