Hello Andy,

do you rotate your logs with logrotate? I had  a similar probleme once.
Backend ist set to auto and while installing (I'm a debian user :-)) a
packge with "gamin" in the name is downloaded. Therefore I think I also
use gamin.

Nevermind. When I rotate apache logs without the "copytruncate" option,
fail2ban looses the reference to the file. As I can see in
/etc/logrotate.d the ssh file declares the option.
