my settings haven't changed in a long time, maybe a year and never had an
issue.
I realized we are running 5.11 as well.
This is happening on 3 of my 5.11 servers all the same.
Interesting, I erase my fail2ban folder and the executable files and check
the version and i get this:
/usr/bin/ fail2ban-client -V
Fail2Ban v0.8.12.dev
RPM shows fail2ban.noarch 0:0.8.14-1.el5 not sure why the version
discrepancy.
When i strip out my config and go with stock jail.conf, and run the
original vsftpd config with no changes I get the below error :
I actually just saw someone who said they tried
backend=gamin and it worked for me... not sure what happened.
