IMHO, RPM issues are your distribution’s responsibility, not Fail2Ban’s. If you signed a support deal with eg. RedHat, or a free-software consulting company, then please turn to them. Else simply compile a newer version of Fail2Ban, which can be changed into an RPM, by adapting your distribution’s RPM-spec file, or by installing the compiled Fail2Ban through the “checkinstall” software.
