I seek help getting fail2ban with a pure pubkeyauth sshd working.
I use pretty much the default config of fail2ban,
when testing if fail2ban works I find "sshd [preauth]" logs in
/var/log/auth.log for failed pub key authentications.
Yet fail2ban isn't triggered. The fail2ban logs state:
INFO Creating new jail 'ssh'
INFO Jail 'ssh' uses Gamin
INFO Added logfile = /var/log/auth.log
INFO Set maxRetry = 6
INFO Set findtime = 300
INFO Set banTime = 600
INFO Jail 'ssh' started
