Maharishi declared himself part of the
tradition upon having himself painted
into the HT picture, similar to
Trotaka with Sankara. For that matter,
some years ago he said that his book
Maharishi's Master Plan to Create
Heaven on Earth was itself part of the
tradition.

A larger question is whether anyone
else besides Maharishi recognizes
this tradition. Do the various
Sankaracharyas not connected with
Maharishi honor the same tradition?
I've never seen independent references
to this group of masters as a linked
chain.
