This whole debate is prejudiced by the short video of Schiavo constantly shown on TV in which her eyes are open and she appears to be expressing some emotion. The doctors caring for her all have testified in prior court actions that she randomly opens and closes her eyes, primarily closed, and she is totally incapable of responding to the env't. Imagine TV constantly showing another of her expressions, eyes closed and grimacing. Now imagine a black man doing this and ask if the republicans would be inconvenienced with that case?
