Better to use texts which verify such experiences, esp. in regard to a movement which claims to uphold the 'purity of the Vedic tradition'. So I will continue to refer to standard texts which describe experiences everyone can appreciate, since anyone on the "Vedic" path would normally do this anyways. This is tradition. "Authoritative testimony". It's more universal, esp. given to accept an experience of another, one most assume that others who listen accept that that person is speaking from a fount of authority. And few people can agree on such a nebulous this. Textual authority is therefore the smallest common denominator.
