Remember that the walking technique is entirely different than the sitting technique. The idea is that a young child who learns to transcend through meditation will likely not want to come out and focus. To them transceding or expansion of conscousness is a more natural occurance. The "word of wisdom" or walking technique is to devolop more foucs of the mind, not expansion. The childs meditation has its own technique which is NOT like sitting TM. For children there is not really much intellectual discussion. There are no intro lectures, prep lectures, 3 days of checkings. It is just a simple thing, "come hear and learn this simple thing to make you more wise". We don't pressure children or force them to do it. We might say, "do you remember your word?" or "can you walk through the house and do your word?" Only some little encouragement is given. Kids are pretty pure and don't need so much help. Any forcing generally backfires. All three of my kids learned the walking technique and none of them did it regularly. Mostly what they know about TM is that Mommy spends alot of time doing it.
