>From my friend:

Most ear infections in dogs are from allergies.
And the vets treat the symptoms instead of finding out the "why."
It can lead to internal disorders.
yeast is a big problem
And it depends on the kind of inflammation or discharge.
I would start with changing the diet with lots of vegetables, long grain
rice, chicken and cook until mushy. I did that with my yorkie too, Veg-all
(in a can), boiled chicken (no fat), brown rice.
and whatever added (vit c, flax). Can't put the wrong kind of drops in,
depends on what the discharge is.
also, one of the big things, I don't keep getting the vaccines after 2 to 3
years, I would spread them out and then stopped completely (except for
rabies shot). The vaccines cause more problems and they don't need them
every year. Could even be the digestive tract, I use Prozyme (digestive
tract) the age of Zymox is an enzymatic ear medication for infections,
contains no antibiotics.. for cleaning 1 part white vinegar to 9 parts
water, to wipe out ears. Hope this helps. I cooked up a good size batch of
food, each thing separate, would put together and warm up a bit before
feeding.
