Now that's interesting. It might have been Yojimbo, with a few scenes possibly conflated. It's been awhile since I've seen it myself, so I don't remember it perfectly. Mifune did not appear in Hara Kiri, but it's worth looking up if it can be found on video or DVD. May have been directed by Kurosawa, but not sure about that.
