Hi Rick,

In my ongoing quest to figure out the Universal Conundrum that is
Maharishi and his movement, it seems that he makes such
pronouncements as you've quoted below as sutras, and uses those who
hear him speak as the silent amplifiers for his cosmic electric
music so to speak.

Most of us are aware of a suffering world, whether we perceive it as
inside or out. When Maharishi says such things as 'the top
scientists blah blah blah, world peace, etc.', he is saying
something that we all know and want in our hearts to one degree or
another. So, we as TMers and anyone else who hears him will
entertain his proclamations in silence, and in so doing, amplify
their effect.

Maharishi understands as well as anyone on earth that meditators'
minds can be used as a powerful weapon against entrenched ignorance,
whether it be inside or out.

Ergo, all the bizarre movement stuff takes place because when
Maharishi speaks, those physically closest to him often interpret
his words in terms of direct external physical change; the grossest,
most material interpretation, conforming to the lowest human
consciousness.

If those around him and all of us truly heard his words in terms of
God and Oneness, the changes he proposes would be instantly
effective because they would be understood and entertained
internally vs. making the arduous and sometimes rediculous
translation into the material realm.

Of course his words have a material correlation, its just the path
in getting to their fulfillment which is grossly interpreted by the
TMO. A far more significant result could be achieved by his
followers NOT doing vs doing.

There was a significant clue to to this recently when during a press
conference someone asked Maharishi if killing is a sin why is it
apparently condoned in the Bhagavad Gita. Maharishi laughed and said
that the Bhagavad Gita is an exposition of the battle internally
within the body.
