It's true. Adversity is the means to unity in diversity, unless one is 
brain damaged at the university.

Hang in there.  Or not.  But try to stay happy.

The *goal* of petty tryrants is to make you unhappy.
If you laugh, it has a tendency to make *them* unhappy.
As the saying goes, "Living well is the best revenge."  :-)

And think about it this way...during his lifetime the
Hindus trashed Buddha up one side and down the other.
They couldn't say enough bad shit about the dude.  So
what do they do when he dies?  They co-opt him and make 
him an incarnation of Vishnu.  Go figure.

So if you hang in there and don't lose your cool and
impress a few folks with your compassion in the face
of adversity, when you finally *do* decide to leave, 
they'll probably make you an avatar.  :-)
