OK, thanks, the 500,000 was a scary thought.  Ironically, before I started practicing TM when I was fifteen I used to be able to hear things and see - things clairaudience and claravoyance, but as soon as I started TM all that stopped. I've never had repeats of it.

This is interesting.  I was posting at Palyul group and the topic had been drugs, and Khenpo Norgey actually read the posts and commented and he said,

"If the bliss experience through realization of the nature of our mind is same as that if using drugs, then it would be more advisable to grow opium than accumulating all the five hundred thousands of ngondo practices! If the goal of meditation and dharma practice is just to walk over water, it would be easier to pay the ferryman than to spent long years in solitude. I think of course it is good to learn from books but the past masters always emphasized learning and being under the guidance of an authentic teacher."

I thought that was very interesting because I grow poppies. And I'm a Sidha.  Not to use of course but because they're pretty. Which one, sidhi or poppies? Not sure anymore. But it felt like he was talking to me. Though if he was really talking to me personally he might should have chosen the 100,000 ngondro because 500,000 is a bit over my abilities. Vvaj, did you do your ngondro?

Interesting response--in other words skips drugs and skip siddhis.

Yes I did my ngondro. The 500,000 is 100,000 x 5 different practices. That's the Palyul. I hope you realize that most of the people here will have no idea what you're talking about since they are more familiar with Sanskrit.

I know a woman who is undergoing the Vajrasattva purification practice. She had spontaneously acquired a number siddhis before that, and slowly the amrita from the purification is clearing these out. It's interesting as it created a lot of attachment which as they purify, the illusory aspects disappear. It appears many of the experiences which present as siddhis are actually karmic obscurations trying to release themselves (kleshas and vasanas). It's been a very painful process for her.
