FWIW, the suutra following "flying" goes like this:

bahir akalpitaa vRttir mahaavidehaa; tataH prakaashaavaraNa-
kSayaH

a-kalpita
Entry  akalpita
 
Meaning  mfn. not manufactured , not artificial , not pretended ; 
natural , genuine. 

This is my attempt at translating it, on the basis of Taimni, et al:

The modification of the mind (vRtti) [called] mahaa-videhaa (great
bodylessness?) is "outside [the intellect -- Taimni]" (bahis) and 
natural(?); from it (tataH) [follows] destruction (kSayaH) of the 
covering (aavaraNa) of light (prakaasha).
