Sure, we all know it's consistent because it's all just the preliminaries of the Gita. Imagine if he wrote the rest of the commentary now in his present state of mind. Traditionally enlightened Swamis had to comment on the Gita, Brahma Sutras, and Yoga Sutras.

Yeah it is light on the practical, 'if this happens, then do that'
type of knowledge. On the other hand his elucidation of the
relationship between Krishna and Arjuna is good. Better than
Yogananda's translation which I have also.

So perhaps I just find it insprirational, and if anything, consistent.
