It was really something. It must have gone on for half an hour or longer. Boring speech from Geoffrey Clements and long periods of belling ringing, shouting Marcos' praise, etc. It was a call and response thing. Clements would say something like "hail President Marcos" and then we'd all shout it back, over and over.
